5 Things Science Can’t Explain Yet

Science has uncovered many mysteries about the universe and many other subjects. But even today, some questions remain unanswered. In today’s topic, we will talk about five great mysteries of science, which no one has been able to fully understand till date. One such thing that we cannot see but the entire universe is held together by it.

Another such mystery that you carry inside yourself, but scientists have not yet been able to explain. And the deepest question: What was there before our universe began? Was there anything? Because in this article, we will tell you about some such mysteries that will blow your mind. And why these things remain unanswered even with the extreme development of technology will force you to think. Now let’s start. The first mystery is dark matter and dark energy.

Dark matter and dark energy

According to NASA’s report, 95% of the universe that we can see, touch, or reach is only something we can imagine. And even that imagination is 99% impossible.  Scientists call it dark matter and dark energy. Dark matter and invisible energy. But the interesting thing is that no one has seen dark matter directly. Its existence is understood because it holds galaxies together with gravity.

If it were not for dark matter, our galaxy would have torn itself apart. And dark energy is even more amazing. That is why the universe is constantly expanding. And that too at an increasing speed. As time passes, the universe is expanding faster. According to scientists, this dark energy will determine the future of the universe. But so far, no one knows what this energy actually is. Even the greatest minds in this field have been searching for the answer for decades. Some say it is energy hidden in the structure of the universe. Some say it is a property of the empty space. But one thing is certain.

Without it, the mathematics of our universe would not be possible. That is why it is said that the universe we see is just a small glimpse of the real universe. The remaining 95% is still in the dark. This is the first mystery.  Now let’s talk about the second mystery that is within ourselves. The second mystery is not in far space.

Consciousness

It is inside your brain. That is consciousness. Why can we think? Why can we feel? It may seem simple to us, but even after decades of research on this topic, great scientists have not been able to reach a conclusion. Scientists have a good understanding of how the neurons in the brain work.

But no one knows how the electrical signals of the neurons are created. This is called the Hard Problem of Consciousness in science. Where does the experience you have when you see the color red actually come from? Is that experience limited to brain chemistry? Or is it something more than that? Some scientists say that consciousness is a fundamental property of the universe. Like gravity or electricity, consciousness may also be a fundamental law of the universe. But no laboratory has yet succeeded in proving this theory.

Artificial intelligence also seems to think. But does it really feel? No one has the answer yet. Neither scientists nor philosophers.  Perhaps consciousness is the mystery that makes us human. And perhaps that is why this question has become one of the deepest questions in science. Now let’s talk about an even deeper mystery.

Science Can’t Explain Yet Big Bang

big bang
big bang

What was before? Our universe is said to have started with the big bang about 13.8 billion years ago. But the question arises, what was there before the big bang? Was there no time? Was there no space? Scientists say that the word before is meaningless there.

Because time itself began with the big bang. This is surprising to hear. But Einstein’s theory of relativity shows this. Some scientists have put forward the theory of multiverses. According to them, our universe may be just one of countless universes. And these universes may be constantly being born and dying. Another theory says that our universe was born from the collapse of a previous universe. This is called the cyclic universe or the active universe theory. But all these are just theories.

None of them have been proven. Because no light or signal from the time before the big bang can reach us. Therefore, that is the limit of the universe that we can see. Perhaps the answer to this question may never be known by human civilization. Now let’s talk about the fourth mystery.

Why does time always flow forward?

time always flow forward

We always travel from the past to the future, never the other way around. But the interesting thing is that most of the laws of physics allow for reverse time as well. Mathematically, both breaking and rejoining should be possible. But in reality, we never see a broken egg reconnect itself. Why is that? Scientists look for the answer in entropy. The amount of disorder. Disorder in the universe always increases, never decreases.

This is called the direction of time. But the question arises again. Why was the universe so orderly at the time of the big bang? If the universe was orderly from the beginning, where did that order come from? This question is puzzling even the greatest physicists. Some say that time is actually just an illusion. Created by our brains. Because at the fundamental level of the universe, the present moment may not exist.

In quantum physics, the relationship between time and space behaves differently. That is why it is said that time is as simple as it seems, in reality it is not so simple. And perhaps this mystery of time is much deeper than we think.  Now let’s talk about the fifth and most amazing mystery.

Does a parallel universe really exist?

Is there another you like living in another universe? It sounds like a movie plot. But it is actually a serious theory of quantum physics. It is called the many worlds interpretation. According to this theory, the universe itself splits at every decision. In one universe you read this article, in the other universe you probably did not.

Both universes are equally real according to the theory. This theory comes from the complex equations of quantum physics. Not from imagination. But no experiment has been possible to prove it yet. Because we cannot contact another universe. That is why many scientists still call it a theory, not a fact.

But on the other hand, theories like string theory also show the possibility of many dimensions and many universes. If these theories prove to be true, our entire understanding of the universe will change. Perhaps we exist in this universe more than we think.

Conclusion : All these five mysteries teach us one thing.  The more science discovers, the more new questions arise. And that’s the beauty of science. Questions never end. Which of these mysteries did you find the most amazing? Tell us in the comments.
